Emmedi has reached a milestone this year, celebrating its first 25 years of business.

It all started in 1994, in an apartment in the center of Udine. Soon the kitchen was used as a Laboratory, where the firmware of check scanners and check selector were developed and tested. At that time, Emmedi mainly developed firmware for micro-controllers and DSP and worked on customizing BIOS for industrial PCs. It was the only Italian company certified to develop firmware on a powerful and innovative Texas Instruments multiprocessor, called TMS320C80 (MVP) Parallel Processor. One of the main applications of this processor was the images compression acquired by the checks selector: the hardware and software system developed by Emmedi allowed to scan and compress the front and back images of 3 checks per second in JPG format. At the time it was an extremely innovative project and we used several months of development to complete it...think that today it would be enough to download the libraries from the internet and use them on any PC to obtain similar performances, makes us realize that 25 years are really a quarter of century! # 25yearsofrEvolution #Anniversary #OurBeginning
